Pleasing God

Pleasing our Creator is what He created us for.

Revelation 4:11: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Pleasing God should be the most important thing in our lives and if we love Him, it will be. I am too often guilty of pleasing myself or someone other than Him. How about you? There is no one more worthy to please than Him.

Hebrews 11:6: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

When we trust Him, there are many ways we can please Him.

1 Corinthians 1:21: For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Luke 12:32: Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father*s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

It pleases God to save us and give us His kingdom.

Ephesians 1:5: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; 9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

Philippians 2:13: For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

John 8:29: And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

Jesus ALWAYS pleased the Father.

Colossians 1:10: That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

It pleases God when children obey their parents and especially when His children obey Him.

1 Thessalonians 2:4: But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. 4:1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

When we please Him we abound more and more.

Hebrews 13:21: Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1 John 3:22: And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

When we please Him and obey His commands, he answers our prayers and blesses us.

Psalms 16:11: Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
